Mammography

Mammography is a low-dose X-ray method to examine breasts for early detection of cancer. During the mammogram, a patient's breast is placed on the platform with X-ray film and compressed with the plastic plates of the device.

The 3D mammography technology we use is highly accurate. The X-ray images captured on film are transmitted and formed into a digital 3D image in 4 seconds. The inspection process is noninvasive, safe, and reliable. The American Cancer Society recommends that women aged 40 or older have regular mammograms every year.

Useful Information

  1. Please bring all your previous breast imaging reports and films for comparison.
  2. Describe clearly your breast changes or symptoms to the radiographer during the exam.
  3. Avoid having a mammogram the week before or during your menstruation, as your breasts may be very sensitive or sore.
  4. Do not wear deodorant, perfume, lotion or talcum powder on the day of your mammography examination as white spots may appear on the X-ray images.
  5. Please inform our staff if there is any chance of pregnancy before the examination.
